At Clinic with a Heart, we provide a broad range of free healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured individuals in our community. Our care is delivered by dedicated volunteers who serve with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Our volunteer medical providers—including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants—are here to help with urgent and basic healthcare needs. We treat a range of concerns, and if you don’t yet have a regular healthcare provider, we’ll help guide you toward finding one.
Medical care visits are limited to three per year per patient. Prescriptions are provided from our clinic formulary only; we do not prescribe narcotics, controlled substances, or antipsychotics.
We provide free dental exams and X-rays from volunteer dentists. While we do not perform all procedures on the day of the exam, we will help connect you with appropriate, cost-effective care for needed treatment.
Clinic with a Heart also partners with the UNMC College of Dentistry to offer dental extraction clinics for patients who qualify.
Vision services are offered through our Vision Voucher Program, which provides access to eye exams and assistance with corrective lenses.
Patients may access vision services one time every two years after meeting program requirements.
We provide compassionate mental health support through volunteer therapists who conduct assessments and connect patients with appropriate community resources. A Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is also available to evaluate and prescribe medication when necessary.
Our volunteer podiatrists offer comprehensive care for foot and ankle conditions, including ingrown toenails, calluses, ulcers, and general foot pain.
Each year, we host free school physical clinics to help families get required school or sports physicals at no cost. Clinics are filled on a first-come, first-served basis once scheduling opens for the school year

Dental Extractions
Volunteer dental students from UNMC College of Dentistry, supervised by volunteer dentists, provide simple extractions for teeth above the gum line.
Hypertension Clinic
Our chronic care clinic focuses on blood pressure management. Patients must be referred by a Clinic with a Heart medical provider and meet program criteria.
Specialty Clinics
We partner with volunteer specialists in areas such as allergy & asthma, orthopedics, pain management, and physical therapy. Referrals from a Clinic with a Heart medical provider are required.
All services provided at Clinic with a Heart are free to patients, and no insurance is required. We strive to support your health with kindness and clarity, and we’ll help guide you to additional care resources whenever possible.

Ed was 56 years old when he came to Clinic with a Heart.
He was living with brittle diabetes and had been released from prison just two weeks earlier. At the time of his visit, he was nearly out of insulin and diabetic supplies.
Ed was trying to rebuild his life—without a job, managing a serious health condition, and without an established medical home. After meeting with a medical provider, Ed received a prescription for insulin and diabetic supplies to last 30 days, all made possible through financial donations to Clinic with a Heart. Before leaving, a discharge volunteer worked with Ed to develop a plan for finding a long-term medical home to help him manage his diabetes going forward.
